Types - There are many prepositions introducing
several different ideas, but the most common concepts described by prepositions
are those of time, place, and movement.
Some examples of German prepositions:
Wien ist nicht
in der Schweiz. [Vienna is not in Switzerland.]
Der Zug kommt um
elf Uhr dreißig. [The train arrives at 11:30.]
Ich lege den Reisepass
neben den Koffer. [I put the passport
beside the suitcase.]
Das ist ein heißer
Kaffee ohne Zucker. [This is a hot coffee
without sugar.]
Inge möchte
nach Kanada fliegen. [Inge wants to fly
to Canada.]
