Adverbs
 


Definition - Adverbs are words that add information about verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs:
             • también [also], muy [very], sólo [only], aquí [here], despacio [slowly], ...


Types - There are many types of adverbs. The most common are adverbs of manner, place, and time.

Adverbs of manner answer the question 'how?' Examples:
             • ¡Muy bien! [Very well!]
             • Manolo conduce rápidamente. [Manolo drives fast.]

Adverbs of place answer the question 'where?' Examples:
             • Allí está nuestro taxi. [There is our taxi.]
             • La estación de trenes no está lejos. [The train station is not far.]

Adverbs of time and frequency answer the question 'when?' and 'how often?' Examples:
             • ¿Empieza mañana el curso? [Does the course start tomorrow?]
             • Tomo a menudo el autobús para ir a casa. [I often take the bus to go home.]
